I’m very excited to begin this journey of helping people find their great agent. Having the right real estate agent on your side when you’re buying or selling a home is a very important thing, but so often I see people working with an agent that is not great. Having the wrong agent can not only be very stressful and at times scary, but it can also be very expensive. The purpose of Your Agent Guide is to provide assistance in navigating through all of the many agents out there to find the great ones, all at no cost to you! 

To help people with this I do two things: I provide practical education on what to look for in an agent and your real estate transactions and I provide an agent matching/referral service. For the educational portion, I will be making videos to explain the things I’ve learned to look for when hiring a real estate agent. With the agent matching service – explained more fully in my video What We Do – I work directly with you to understand your needs and wants, and then I directly connect you with a professional agent. 

To give you an idea of the difference working with the right agent makes I’ll share with you the story of the purchase of our home. At the time of our purchase the market was extremely competitive as a buyer – as it still is today. After looking at several homes, we found the home that we loved and that was in the area we wanted, so, we told our agent “we want it!” Based on the market conditions, the specific situation of the home we were looking at, and years of experience, our agent built an offer strategy for us. Because of our trust in our agent, we followed that strategy, which not only made our offer the winning offer, we won out against eighteen (18)other offers and our offer was not the highest offer. 

Another story of an amazing agent happened when I was working as an admin on a real estate team. One of our clients working with us to help sell their home. Our agent put together a listing strategy with the family and we implemented it perfectly. The agent’s skills with presenting the home in the listing, knowledge of the area, and skills at negotiating won our clients 10% over asking price and 2 months of extremely cheap rent so they could finish buying their new home and move. 

I hope these stories help show what having a great agent on your side can look like. The horror stories you’ve heard from your friends and co-workers definitely happen, but the stories I’ve shared above definitely do too. Let’s make sure you’re on the winning side of your story.
